The Resurrection Religious Education Program mourns the  sudden loss of their beloved catechist of over 25 years, Mr. Kevin Hassett. Through his teaching he brought joy and made a difference in so many lives because of his love of his Catholic faith. We were truly blessed by his caring spirit, kindness, friendship, devotion and advocacy to the Pro-Life movement.

Every year on the feast day of St. Nicholas, as St. Nicholas, he visited classes and brought the spirit of Christmas with treats to the students. In his faith formation of youth he volunteered as a Confirmation Catechist, HS Retreat team leader, youth social activity team leader, family life catechist and offered each year a teaching of the Nativity to the middle school children.  We are reminded that one of his favorite scriptures to share with the children was that of Jonah. In his memory, I encourage you to read it.

His presence will be missed by his students and co-catechists. His faithful spirit will live on… Our prayers to his wife Maureen and her family. May they find comfort and peace from their precious memories and have God’s presence to care for them in their loss.
