Happy Advent, everyone. Jesus Esta Vivo! Jesus is Alive! Come to our Advent Talk. Saturday. Nov. 30th. 9am-1030am in Presenter: Fr. Jean-Marie Vincent.                       IN RESURRECTION CHURCH.   [Hosted by Fr. John Barry]

Homily of Nov. 24 Christ the King feast                                      Reading I Dn 7:13-14 As the visions during the night continued, I saw one like a Son of man coming, on the clouds of heaven; when he reached the Ancient One and was presented before him, the one like a Son of man received dominion, glory, and kingship; all peoples, nations, and languages serve him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that shall not be taken away, his kingship shall not be destroyed.

Jesus is King! Jesus is Lord! Do you agree?!

At a political rally video, played many times over since its happening, a phrase was called out in the crowd by two college guys named Grant and Luke in their own school gym, hoping that the rally would not forget Who is already Lord of our nation: Jesus. “Jesus is King. Jesus is Lord!” –They called out at some point in the speech. The politician stopped and famously blurted out back to them—in a smirk: “Oh, you are at the wrong rally.” And then the two were escorted out. Evidently, “Jesus is King” was a disagreeable, unwelcome thing to say there at that rally. (Election pundits said it was an awful, off-the-cuff remark made by the candidate—but sadly not taken back by them for it.)

We have all our Catholic churches and Masses today ACCLAIM Christ Jesus as King. We EXULT in saying it. Jesus is King! Our prayers in this liturgy hail Jesus in Hosannas to the Most High One. We are Praising Jesus in prayers of Holy is His Name. Glory to God… and to our Lord Jesus Christ, only Begotten Son…Lamb of God… You take away the sins of the world, grant us peace.

Yes! This IS His House, His Church, His body. We are His people. We acclaim and celebrate Christ Jesus here. Here we celebrate that God made us through Him, as the Blessed Eternal Son. Here we celebrate that, as promised, the Lord’s Anointed came among us, in Jesus Christ, and He is our Redeemer King. Now we await the promise of His Glorious Coming, as we live in that Advent of expectation and hope.

A famous Christian entertainer shares in his career that he gets asked to introduce people and provide amazing build-ups and hype for the “star” or “celebrity” of note. The entertainer is a lifelong Christian, and he got to wondering how Jesus would be given an introduction. He says he once wrote one. (I looked at it and added or changed some things to it—loving the idea of it. Here it goes as my homily for today.)

Ladies and gentlemen, it is my honor to introduce Someone who needs no introduction. But still—I’ve been asked to say something, soThis person’s credits are way too long to list… He has done the impossible time after time…He has been hailed by plenty enough admirers as the greatest one over all 20 centuries of A.D. time….Our calendar is based on His birthday—Anno Domini- the year This King was born….Surprisingly, He first hails out of a manger in Bethlehem, a shepherd-town near Jerusalem…

Somewhat secretly, He also hails by way of Heaven…He said He was sent by the Everlasting One to come seek out the lost, and to be their only-qualified Shepherd of souls, to lead that flock of people back to eternity via His divine forgiveness… I introduce to you the Man Who has founded the only Peace accord that will truly ever work for this world—though the Nobel Prize people have overlooked Him. Yet He offers an eternal peace via Himself.  His mother Mary is still headlining in our Catholic Church today… She is His model of victory for the believer—in fact one of her titles is “Our Lady of Victory.” Jesus Her Son is the One who won victory over sin and death, yet while He remains the humblest of all people, even with such power and greatness. He humbly awaits our consent that He may be king of our hearts this day and evermore.  John 1:12t

Jesus is this man by Name, Who has had it taken in vain ever so much, and He has been lied about, misrepresented, maligned, and had so much hate put upon Him, and yet He has born it all up, still while never giving up on humankind or of his mission to help us. He has adorers all over the world, in every nation, by the hundreds of millions… His father in heaven is the author of a book that has been on the bestseller list from the beginning of when books first were made, and before that, was the number one writing on scrolls—it’s called the Bible—and it’s all centered and focused on Him. He brings Good News to a sad and weary world, He pays attention even to the sick and poor, being kind to others like no other has done. was the first one to fly into the heaves and space and not require an aircraft or balloon. He opened the gates of eternal paradise to any who would repent and believe in Him. He is the Hope of all hopes. He is the Lone Person who can walk on water or can turn water in the wine—with no special effects nor camera tricks nor magic. He has risen from the dead, too. No small feat!  Even so, he has been a patron to spelunkers everywhere, for one’s safe exit out. He was not initially interested in exploring caves, but became greatly interested in how one could exit one—after death. He can help you out of any grave situation, too! He has made the Cross + a universal figure that all generations since His humble coming can recognize and know—and even more so, His Crucifix serves as identification with His suffering with and for every person. Even before the famed kings or queens or leaders in history, He already was beheld the king of all kings, ruler of the universe, entitled the Alpha, and the Omega, the Beginning, and the End of all existence and things. He is so bright, that He is dubbed the Morning Star. He is so pleasant so be around that some dub Him as the Rose of Sharon. All hopers for a peace that will come one fine day to the world name him as the Prince of Peace, aka, one that can give it. In fact, as I introduce Him, I cannot do it justice like the prophet Daniel once did—and so that you might know Him when you see Him—I’ll use His words in finish… Here is “the Son of man coming, on the clouds of heaven; even He, who has pre-presented the human race for saving, to the Ancient One, Abba. Here is the Son of Man in glorious return with His angels, to receive now from you, in His regal coming, all dominion, glory, and kingship; from all peoples, nations, and languages. Forever. Here is Christ Jesus the King!
