December 4 & DECEMBER 5, 2020 | FREE ADMISSION

All booths located in the Amadeo Room are filled. Booths in other locations are still available.

The parish’s major fundraiser of the year the Winterfest and Craft Fair will be held Friday, December 4, 2020 from 3:00-9:00 pm and Saturday, December 5, 2020 from 9:00-3:00 pm. The 2-day event is held in the Amadeo Room and the Parish Life Center.
We will be required to comply with all the Federal, State, County and Church rules and regulations in existence at the time of the event.

More than 70 crafters and vendors participate and sell a wide variety of items including jewelry, candles, handcrafted purses, hand-crocheted items, hand-sewn totes, table runners and placemats, and floral arrangements, to name a few. Resurrection tables offer homemade baked goods, wine, and White House Christmas Ornaments.

Here is a brief description of some of the activities/events that are part of Winterfest:

Silent Auction

One of the most popular features of Winterfest is the Silent Auction, which provides an opportunity to bid on and win beautiful baskets, sports memorabilia (including great Caps Memorabilia celebrating their Stanley Cup Victory), tickets and gift cards. Many are donated by local businesses throughout the Burtonsville and Silver Spring communities.

Winterfest Cork Pull

Everyone is a winner! Pay $10.00 and pull a wine cork (red or white) you win a bottle of wine (valued at $10 or more) that has the same number as the cork. Located next to the Bake Sale the first 60 winners receive a decorative wine bag. 10 corks include an extra surprise gift. Great for Holiday Hostess Gifts & Gift Exchanges!

Treasure Chest

Bargain hunters will enjoy Santa’s Treasure Chest which offers many new or nearly new items donated by parishioners and sold at a low cost. Be sure to check it out this year.

White House Christmas Ornament

The 2020 White House ornament, honoring President John F. Kennedy, and sponsored by Winterfest will be available this year.
Orders should be made directly with SALLY CURLEY, no later than October 31st by mail: 6 Locustwood Court Silver Spring, MD 20905.
In order for the process to flow, we ask that you please do not send anything to the parish office. When your order has been received, you will be notified by either phone or email. Pick-up for Riderwood residents will be available at the Resurrection Riderwood Office. The cost is $20 each for orders of 4 or more, and $25 each for orders of 3 or less. Since it has not been determined if Winterfest will happen, this will be the only option for purchase. Checks should be made out to Resurrection. With your order, please include your name, phone number, email, and number of ornaments being ordered. If you have any questions, please contact Sally Curley at 301-236-4912.

Winterfest Raffle tickets

Winterfest preparations are in full swing! One of the many sources of income for the event is the Raffle. We will have two concurrent raffles this year:

The raffle is for cash prizes. Tickets are 1-$5, 3-$10, 6-$20
1st Prize- $500; 2nd Prize- $500; 3rd Prize- $500

The above amounts do not require that tax form 1099 be issued to the winner. Tickets returned to the Church by November 12 will also be eligible for a $250 early bird prize and the ticket is re-entered for the final drawing.

A package with general Winterfest information will go out to all registered parishioners via US Mail. This is the easiest way to participate! All that is required is that you buy or sell the two books of tickets enclosed and return the money and ticket stubs to the Church office or place in the special box in the back of the Church.

Unsold ticket books can also be returned to the box for additional opportunities to distribute. If you do not receive a mailing or need more tickets you can pick up at the Church office.

This committee is led by Kelly Maltagliati and Sue Berger. If you would like to be a part of the committee or have additional questions, please feel free to email us. All volunteers are welcome!

Winterfest Bake Sale

“There are no calories at the bake sale table!”

Okay, maybe there are a few but all the deliciousness in each cupcake , cookie, brownie & other baked goods sold goes to raising $ for our church programs. The Bake Sale team has fun too— they may break out in song/dance , tell a good joke or provide quick words of wisdom with each purchase! It’s never a dull moment at the Bake Sale table! Many of the volunteers on the team are directly impacted by the money raised.

The money from WinterFest helps them find various service projects they do in our community as well as fun events & trips. So come out and support the Bake Sale table …. You will get a tasty treat and have your time at WinterFest uplifted by the Bake Sale Table team you meet!

Saturday Morning Breakfast Music

The Knights of Columbus will offer breakfast on Saturday morning, and Fr Barry will entertain the guests with many Christmas Favorites Carols.
An open mic will be available throughout the day, for those who would like share their talents!
