Here is a brief description of some of the activities/events that are part of Winterfest:

Silent Auction

One of the most popular features of Winterfest is the Silent Auction, which provides an opportunity to bid on and win beautiful baskets, sports memorabilia (including great Caps Memorabilia celebrating their Stanley Cup Victory), tickets and gift cards. Many are donated by local businesses throughout the Burtonsville and Silver Spring communities.

Winterfest Cork Pull

Everyone is a winner! Pay $15.00 and pull a wine cork (red or white) you win a bottle of wine (valued at $15 or more) that has the same number as the cork. Located next to the Bake Sale the first 60 winners receive a decorative wine bag. 10 corks include an extra surprise gift. Great for Holiday Hostess Gifts & Gift Exchanges!

Treasure Chest

The Treasure Chest has become one of the most fun and successful features of Winterfest! Bargain hunters will enjoy Santa’s Treasure Chest, which offers many new or nearly new items donated by parishioners and sold at a low cost. Be sure to check it out this year.

White House Christmas Ornament

Winterfest Raffle tickets

Winterfest preparations are in full swing! One of the many sources of income for the event is the Raffle. We will have two concurrent raffles this year:

There is a cash raffle:
Three tickets will be picked to win $500 each. Tickets returned by November 13 will also be eligible for a $250 Early Bird prize.
The above amounts do not require that tax form 1099 be issued to the winner. Tickets returned to the Church by November 13 will also be eligible for a $250 early bird prize and the ticket is re-entered for the final drawing.

We also have a handmade Quilted Throw “Belle Isle” for raffle. Tickets for all are 1-$10, 3-$20.

A package with general Winterfest information was mailed to all registered parishioners via US Mail. This is the easiest way to participate! All that is required is that you buy or sell the two books of tickets enclosed and return the money and ticket stubs to the Church office or place in the special box in the back of the Church.

Unsold ticket books can also be returned to the box for additional opportunities to distribute. If you do not receive a mailing or need more tickets you can pick up at the Church office.

This committee is led by Kelly Maltagliati and Sue Berger. If you would like to be a part of the committee or have additional questions, please feel free to email us. All volunteers are welcome!

Winterfest Bake Sale

“There are no calories at the bake sale table!”

Okay, maybe there are a few but all the deliciousness in each cupcake , cookie, brownie & other baked goods sold goes to raising $ for our church programs. The Bake Sale team has fun too— they may break out in song/dance , tell a good joke or provide quick words of wisdom with each purchase! It’s never a dull moment at the Bake Sale table! Many of the volunteers on the team are directly impacted by the money raised.

The money from WinterFest helps them find various service projects they do in our community as well as fun events & trips. So come out and support the Bake Sale table …. You will get a tasty treat and have your time at WinterFest uplifted by the Bake Sale Table team you meet!
