Church of the Resurrection Knights of Columbus Council 9808 has received the distinction of Star Council, the international organization’s top award for local councils
The Star Council Award recognizes overall excellence in the areas of membership, promotion of fraternal insurance benefits, sponsorship of faith formation programs and service-oriented activities.
Some of the highlights of this past year include donations to Pregnancy Centers, the Burtonsville Athletic Association and other charitable organizations. The Knights participated in the packing of food items for families in need and contributed to the church’s Food Pantry. We held Flea Markets and provided document shredding services to the community. We assisted in the set up and breakdown of the Winter Fest, and provided food and drinks for attendees. Men’s retreats were held for the spiritual growth of our parish. This is just a small sampling of the Knights activities.
