Homeless Shelter, February 25th – March 3rd

* Catholic social teaching stresses the sanctity of human life and the inherent dignity of each human person. Toward that end, Resurrection is participating in the Laurel Winter Shelter program in which local churches each host a group of homeless men and women for a week during the winter months.
* Resurrection’s Homeless Week begins on Sunday, February 25th at 6:00 pm and concludes the following Sunday, March 3 at 7:00 am. After being picked up each evening at Elizabeth House in Laurel (where they receive dinner), our guests will be housed in the Amadeo Room between the hours of 6:00 pm and 6:30 am each day during that week. They will be provided breakfast and a take out lunch before being transported back to Laurel each morning.
* As recorded in the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus will ask of each of us: Did we welcome the stranger, provide food for the hungry and provide drink for the thirsty?
* Thanks to all who have financially contributed, or have volunteered to contribute food or to staff the shelter or have prayed for it’s success. Thank you for your generosity and continued support of our outreach program!
