We Are Our Mothers’ Daughters: music by and for women.
Through the centuries, it hasn’t been easy for even the most talented women composers to be recognized and published in a world dominated by men. Voix de Femmes, with Soprano Brooke Evers and pianist Grace Cho, presents an all women program: music written by women composers, for women voices, starting with the extraordinary Hildegard Von Bingen.
For this special concert honoring women composers, Voix de Femmes is very proud to premiere a newly commissioned work written for the ensemble by Oregon composer Lana Walter, titled: We Rise, for women voices and percussion.
