The Feast of the Assumption commemorates Mary being taken body and soul into Heaven. We honor the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, one of our Blessed Mother’s principal feasts and a holy day of obligation. The US Conference of Catholic Bishops lifts the Mass obligation when this feast falls on a Saturday or Monday. Since August 15 falls on a Saturday in 2026, Catholics are not required to attend Mass, though parishes will still celebrate the feast day.
Resurrection will offer Mass at 9:00 am on August 15th.
