Isaiah's Promise and St. Joseph's House

Isaiah's Promise and St Joseph's House
Resurrection has adopted Isaiah's Promise and St Joseph's House as local pro-life ministries to support. Periodically our "poor box" collection will be designated for Isaiah's House and St Joseph's House. In addition, Resurrection parishioners will be kept abreast of any volunteer opportunities to serve with these ministries.
Isaiah's Promise, a volunteer support network, provides information, friendship and hope to families who decide to carry to term their baby after receiving a severe or fatal prenatal diagnosis. The name Isaiah's Promise is taken from the Bible verse: "See, I will not forget you. I have carved you on the palm of my hand." (Isaiah 49:15). Isaiah's Promise helps families celebrate and memorialize their baby's life no matter the circumstance or duration. If you are a parent with a prenatal diagnosis, or know someone who has received this news, contact Isaiah's Promise though their website: Isaiah's Promise at http://www.isaiahspromise.net. Interested in volunteering? Parents who have experienced pregnancy and birth with a severe or fatal prenatal diagnosis can serve as mentors; see the IP website for details. Consider knitting or crocheting a prayer shawl and/or baby blanket to be given as part of Isaiah's Promise support for families. St. Joseph's House offers home-based care before- and after-school, which enables our parents, many of whom are parenting alone, to hold jobs. Two weekends a month we offer respite care, which allows our families an opportunity to recharge and spend special time with their other children without the challenges of caring for a special needs child. In addition, St. Joseph's House offers emergency 24-hour care (up to two weeks) which has allowed our parents to attend to other family crisis without worry.
Currently, St Joseph's house does not have any volunteer positions available for parishioners; however financial contributions are always appreciated. Learn more about SJH at their website -
